Popularly known as "The Wales and West" our primary focus is the area from West Midlands down to Cornwall in England and most of Wales
Our activities are centred in that area but we support the cause of Shih Tzu and their owners from all over the country and accept members nationwide and further.
Shih Tzu Club of South Wales & Western Counties Championship Show 2nd August 2021.
Thank you to all exhibitors who have entered our Show, we have 40 dogs making 43 entries.
When our Schedule was issued it included the COVID guidance that was applicable at that time and since then the Government rules in England have been relaxed.
However, there are still high numbers of cases in the UK and, the Kennel Club have recently issued further COVID guidance to be taken into consideration when holding shows at this time. In particular:
“If a competitor, or anyone in their household, has Covid-19-related symptoms or has tested positive for Covid-19, they must self isolate in line with government advice. The competitor must not attend the event.”
In addition, they have also stated that:
- Rings will have a separate entrance and exit, which must be adhered to by all exhibitors
- All exhibitors should consider other people whilst in the ring and be courteous regarding space
- It may be necessary for dogs to be in the ring on rotation if the ring is not large enough to accommodate all exhibits in one go allowing enough space between exhibitors
- The handler should show the dog’s teeth to the judge
We would ask that you keep all of this in mind when attending the show and follow the guidelines, which will help to ensure that the show can be run smoothly, whilst minimising the risk of infection to you, your fellow exhibitors, the stewards and judge.
Gazebos may be sited in the designated areas and we ask that all exhibitors are sensible with locating these and that they are kept within these areas. Exhibitors are asked to bring their own chairs.
Please also see the Bath Championship Show page on Highampress for further information on their COVID guidance.
We look forward to seeing you all on the day.
Championship Show in Partnership With South Wales Kennel Association - October 2021
As you will be aware, we were forced to cancel our second Championship Show of this year, which was to be held in October in partnership with the SWKA.
After considering all of the options available, in relation to finding a suitable venue and, possible COVID issues later in the year, the Committee has made the decision to carry this show forward to next year and, it will now be held in partnership with the Welsh Kennel Club in August 2022 where the judge will still be Yvonne Forbes (Ekland)
As a consequence of this we will now be holding two Championship Shows next year and we will update you with further details of the other show in due course.
We still have spaces available for this years 50's Club. A £12 payment will give you 12 chances to win a prize of £25, one for each month of the year. Your number is put into the draw for each month of the year, so you can win more than once and this has happened many times before. The draw is held at the end of the year when all prizes are distributed.
The funds raised provide valuable financial support in assisting the Club run in its activities throughout the year. If you would like to join, please contact our Secretary on 01443 440870 or email her - email@example.com
